Heading the Department of Inter- nal Cooperation, he, together with Dr Edward Kendall, is charged with ensur- ing that the WBFSH fulfils its mandate to engage member stud books by shar- ing expertise and through collaborative projects. The department’s main activ- ity is to stimulate cooperation among member studbooks using regional fora. The WBFSH is the ideal platform for


international cooperation between stud books and is seeking to encourage greater participation by non-European stud books. “There is much discussion amongst non-European breeders about which organization best looks after their interests,” Chris Gould says. “It seems

Ontario. With international senior judge Hakan Wahl- mann leading the way, nine top-quality stallions were licensed. Of special interest was the number of two- year-olds presented, four of which were licensed. They are excellent representatives of the success of the Cana- dian breeding program. In fact the majority of the stal- lions presented were the progeny of stallions owned and standing in Canada, a testament to the depth and qual- ity of the Canadian Warmblood breeding population.
