Canada to Host International Young Breeders Championships
The Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA), after many years of sending a team to the
International Young Breeders Champi- onships (IYBC), is very excited to host the
2017 competition. Partnering with Spruce Meadows
in Calgary July 20–22, this will be the first time the cham- pionships have been held outside of Europe. All World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) member stud books may send a junior (ages 16-19) and senior team (ages 20-25), with each team consisting of four members. The young breeders concept is to foster inter- est and knowledge in young people about the selection, breeding and care of Warmblood horses. For more infor- mation, go to the IYB web site
www.young-breeders.com or contact

Longest Running North American Warmblood Sale Celebrating its twenty-second year of continuous operation, the 2016 Fall Classic Breeder’s Sale featured 40 quality Warmblood horses at excep- tional prices in all categories. From foals and broodmares to experienced show horses, buyers from across North America were able to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and convenience of seeing and trying out a variety of horses over the two-day event. In spite of an unusually snowy
weekend of October 8 and 9, a good crowd assembled for the demonstra- tions, tryouts and gala evening and barbeque. Hundreds of others followed the action on live-streaming video and bid by phone. For the second year, the sale was held at Red Deer in central Alberta in the Westerner Sport and Agricultural complex. One of the highlight sales was the Totilas grandson Koning, a yearling
