SAFE FUEL DOCK

MOORING T

he 490-berth Marselisborg Havn just outside of Aarhus in Denmark is pleased to see their new fuel dock in full operation.

Highest standards were met to ensure safe, eco-friendly and convenient filling. The marina's lack of land space was one of the main incentives to go for a floating filling dock which now operates efficiently all year round. The new station contains two 8000 l tanks and can accommodate 2 boats at the same time fulfilling an increasing demand of both, petrol and diesel.

Both pontoon and mooring system had to meet those high requirements. • People - and material safety as well as environmental issues were top priorities.

• Ease of installation, maintenance and life expectancy were - amongst other factors - taken into consideration.

• Extra focus was put on the quality of material, treatment of tanks, balance and buoyancy.

Marina Manager Thomas Fog: " Following over a year of work with the authorities we had the approval to go ahead. Traditional mooring solutions, such as

chains, piles or rigid distance holders showed to have considerable disadvantages. We were concerned about the high, undamped force impact and the station's stability at changing water levels. So our risk assessment lead us to decide for

DualDocker, Made in Austria, as the only mooring system. We've got a perfectly working filling station, for 2 vessels, with which we are very satisfied."
