BWML – EVERYTHING OUR STAFF NEED TO EXCEED CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS

B

ritish Waterways Marinas Ltd (BWML) has stepped up its investment in training and development, to ensure its

front of house staff have all the skills and expertise they need to provide the highest level of service to its customers. To put that into practice, BWML’s Group

Training Manager, Barry Glanville has developed a wide-reaching training framework that comprises a series of five learning and development areas. Staff in both the Home Counties and the

North West are well on their way to completing the British Marine, Marina Operatives Course. At BWML’s Cow Roast Marina, at Tring, Hertfordshire, the marina team completed the boat handling module, and were grateful to local narrow boat hire company, Kerrnal Cruisers for their kind cooperation in making this training day possible. Meanwhile, three members of the BWML

North West marinas team donned their lifejackets and braved a chilly Tuesday afternoon on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, to complete their boat handling training module, and were grateful to Nigel Boydell of White Bear Marina at Adlington, Lancashire who allowed the team to use his boat ‘September Song’. Barry Glanville of BMWL commented,

‘We are delighted that our training programme has got off to such a good start, and that our staff are working their way through the modules to complete the marina operatives course. More than that, however, we look forward to the programme ensuring we continue to exceed the expectations of our customers.’
