The arid pyramid is filled with cacti and succulents.
that love dry climates, and are happy with wide tempera- ture fluctuations between day and night. The plants in the arid pyramid originate from five continents, wherever rain- fall averages less than 25 centimetres per year, including both hot and cold regions such as Mediterranean forests, deserts, woodlands and scrub. For comparison, Edmonton has an average of 45 centimetres of precipitation per year. Once the gardens have been explored, visitors can explore
the gift shop to find more information about the botanical collection and the results of the plant trials. The Culina Muttart café provides food sourced from the gardens and local area,
inspiring customers to plant and grow their
own herbs and vegetables. For more information, or to plan a visit, see: www.
