The following list of hybridizers and achievements is not complete, but shows a small sampling of recognition by vari- ous gardening associations towards the promoters of genus lilium in Alberta.

2007 NALS Regional Medal Award presented by ARLS for outstanding contributions to the regional society.

2009 Edmonton Horticultural Society Lifetime Achievement Award


2010 ARLS awarded him for ‘Contributions to the genus lilium’ at his 100-year life marker.

individuals for outstanding contributions to the genus lilium.

Robert Simonet 1903-1986 1966 NALS Award of Merit for ‘Black Butterfly’ 1984 Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame inductee

2006 NALS Regional Medal Award presented by ARLS 2007 Emerson Hickling Award awarded by NALS


for most breeding advancement for a seedling hybrid- ized and grown from seed by the exhibitor, for a marta- gon seedling as yet unregistered.


Alex Burnett 1922-2012 1995 S.L. Emsweller Award awarded by NALS for


three different tetraploid lilies, one stem each identified, for “Pumenta”, 87913 seedling., 8964 seedling.
