A few weeks back my other half had to make a trip back to the UK for a few days and therefore left me and my little angel in our peaceful home. Now I like to consider myself quite an independent woman but on this occasion things just seemed to go a bit pear shaped.
I had arranged to meet my mum, sister and brother-in-law for Sunday Lunch at La
Zenia and although everything was going to plan time-wise that all changed as I shut the front door behind me with the house and car keys still on the inside. Luckily I was able to get in touch with my son who came to the rescue and gained access to the house. Anyone who knows me well will know that for me to be late is not an unusual occurrence, but up until this point I had been so proud of myself that I was making good time.
At the same time, our air conditioning had decided to give up the ghost so I had the bright idea of having it looked at while he was away. The unit hadn’t been working as efficiently as it should for over a week and as the temperature at the time was still very hot I was finding it a bit unbearable. Anyway after arranging for a company to come and take a look, I switched it on one morning only to realise that all this time it was actually on the wrong setting which was the reason it kept cutting off. Obviously it was a little embarrassing to call and cancel the appointment but it would have been a lot worse if they had come out to check it and then explain to me what the problem was! Moral of my story…always check things once, then twice, before closing the door on something!!!!
