Santa Rosa, CA. ~ I’m sure most people by now know publishers are a little diff er- ent people from the rest. Well, at least, I am. T e fact that I like to have a little fun is an understate- ment. I kind of like to have fun as much as I can...when possible. I tend to joke around with people and at times I get the strang- est looks, and most oſt en nice bursts of laughter! I love to entertain! To entertain is another (one of 4,298,328) goals of mine. Music combined with comedy, as Victor Borge did in his career(scan this code to the leſt

for one of Video his classics). I’ve

always loved to play music. It be-

gan at an early stage, thanks to my mom. I’ve played in bands along my journey also. T e picture above reminds

me of an early 90’s movie called ‘Waynes World’, which in all its silliness was quite entertain- ing! Click your smart device to see

a short

clip of ‘Bohe- mian Rhapsody as seen in the movie. I’m sure it will bring back memories for all who watched it at that time. One of the chal- lenges of being silly or having a bit too much fun is that it can get you into trouble, especially if you are a kid. T ose hilarious jokes and funny faces squashed up against a window while a teacher is trying to teach her students English probably

If you want to entertain, save

it for the stage, she would say. T is was moms recommenda- tion. Many years later, while living out in the real world, I took a comedy class. My teach- er wasn’t funny at all. I wasn’t sure why he was teaching the class. I practiced for six weeks, testing out my material on all who would listen. My best rou- tines I used while I was a waiter at various restaurants. I actu- ally made a lot of tips by trying to make the ‘dining experience’

and to bring extra ‘Life’ to an otherwise static piece of news print. It is my goal to re-invent the newspaper industry. It is for purposes of helping those with smart devices to make Upbeat Times great source of infor- mation, laughter, and over all ‘Upbeat Experience! For those of you who don’t have those de- vices but own a computer, you can type in the names I’ve given and it will come right up when you do a search. I have to say, I am having fun

having a bit of fun the way. I certainly

applaud those who let go a bit, let down their hair,(so-to- speak) and have a bit of fun. Granted, it takes a bit of prac- tice. I guarantee, with a little bit of practice, it gets easier & Easier. May this issue fi nd you well!

First Humor A woman went to her doctor’s

offi ce. She was seen by one of the new doctors, but after about 4 min- utes in the examination room, she burst out screaming and ran down the hall. An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she explained. He had her sit down and relax in another room. The older doctor marched back to the fi rst and demanded, “What’s the matter with you? Mrs. Terry is 63 years old, she has four grown children and seven grand- children, and you told her she was pregnant?” The new doctor smiled smugly as he continued to write on his clipboard. “Cured her hiccups though, didn’t it?”
