BIG FALL GUIDE Life Inspired and Guided by the Muses by Jewel Shield
Sonoma County , CA. ~ “Flow with your heart, just go in and pour it out…” These song lyrics fl owed from the heart of a 3 year old child I was mentoring in music and art 33 years ago. A moment pro- foundly beauti- ful and magical, her words car- ried a message for
everyone.
Music and Art can create posi- tive transforma- tion in our lives, and we never stop evolving. I love allow-
ing and supporting the individual expression of each persons gifts. I’ve come to truly appreciate and love the diversity of music, art and people and feel how it connects us. My life is guided and inspired by beauty, nature, mysticism and won- der, and my curiosity teaches me a holistic perspective of music and art. freeing my voice to sing. I have been Certifi ed in Sound Voice and Music Healing, Yoga of the Voice, recently I became a member of Sonoma Threshold Choir, and am learning the music of St. Hildegard with Devi Matthieu. I’m currently teaching improvisation for Rincon Valley After School Enrichment and soon will teach ceramics to children in Sonoma.
Engaging in music and creative arts is important for healthy de- velopment of our mind, body and spirit. My desire is to assist chil- dren of all ages in realizing their inner teacher and transform their life through arts. It is available and possible for all, not just for “gift- ed” or formally trained. Life is art. Creative expression is everyones natural birthright. Music is truly a Universal Language. Editors note: Jewel is new to Sonoma County and is great to talk to and very tal- ented. The harp is one of many in- stuments she can teach about. More? 503-487-7338
