Fifteen young professionals have been shortlisted for the second annual Future Faces awards. The winners will be revealed at the Future
Faces awards dinner at Edgbaston Stadium on Friday 16 September. As well as the five main categories, the
Future Faces Ambassador and Venue of the Year awards will be announced on the night. The shortlisted candidates were chosen by
a judging panel made up of Russell Jeans, director of membership and business services at GBCC; Alan Gilmour, acquisition and retention at Police Mutual; Justice Williams, MD of Women Who Ltd; Mark Gilman, Professor of SME Growth & Development at Birmingham City Business School and Nick Holzer, CEO of
whisk.com. The event will feature entertainment from
Solihull comedian David Morgan, who has starred at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as appearing on ITV 2 shows ‘Safeword’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now!’

Alex Evans NHS Community Trust
Alex has 16 years’ experience in journalism and communications. After learning his craft at the Birmingham Post, he went on to help launch social media channels at organisations including University of Birmingham and Birmingham City Council. The 34-year-old from Moseley now specialises in digital communications for the NHS and is a governor for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Samantha Slingsby Tinker Taylor TV
Having started out as a business admin apprentice at Tinker Taylor films, Samantha quickly developed an understanding of all areas of the video communications agency’s operation. She earned a series of promotions and, in her current role as production manager/co-ordinator, the 21-year-old is now responsible for all organisational aspects of the agency’s projects.
Sophie Drake Story Comms
While studying for a Media and Communications degree, Sophie worked as a PR and marketing assistant at Birmingham City University. The 23- year-old is now an account executive at Story Comms – a public relations agency which boasts a number of big-name clients including John Lewis, the NEC and Marketing Birmingham.

Andile Siziba Mediservices Healthcare
Andile is a qualified neurophysiologist with more than six years’ experience in the NHS, working at the Royal London and Queen Elizabeth Birmingham. While waiting to start a master’s degree in Epilepsy at Kings College, the 28-year- old formed Mediservices Healthcare, which provides innovative neurophysiological solutions to both the NHS and private hospitals.
Dr. Scott Hardman, Blue Vine Consultants
Scott completed a PhD in Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Applications at the University of Birmingham. During this time, he co-founded Blue Vine Consultants and was named BQ
Magazine’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2014. The 26-year-old from Moseley helps companies to understand the market for low carbon automotive technologies such as electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
Andrew Ward Scorchsoft
Andrew, age 27, is the founder and director of Scorchsoft - a specialist web and app development company. At 14, he had developed his first web project - an online games website called ‘Andy-land’. An ambitious entrepreneur, Andrew is utilising Scorchsoft's in-house capabilities to develop exciting new platforms that are highly scalable, providing exponential growth.

Dr Amrit Chandan Blue Vine Consultants
Amrit is an experienced engineer specialising in future technologies. He previously worked as a technical specialist in low carbon vehicles at Cenex. The 27-year-old has published ten academic papers on topics ranging from marketing to fuel cell technology development. Amrit was named Business Quarterly Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2014.
Ryan Turner Avico
Ryan delivers quantity surveying and project management services to clients in the education sector. The 30-year-old chartered quantity surveyor is leading the delivery of educational buildings in Birmingham. This includes the Additional Primary Places Programme and the Special Educational Needs Additional Places Programme, which have a combined value of around £40m per year.
