his past year,Bloomberg Philanthropies announced thatDallas had been chosen as one of the six cities in the nation to receive funding to strengthen select non-profit cultural organi-
ing performances on the same date. The publication you are nowread- ing grewout of that simple beginning. Just as programs and services of theDanceCouncil have expanded, so too has dance in our community. Today,North Texas is nationally acknowledged as a dance hotbed. DCNT has grown to amid-sized organization. These accomplishments are significant. Through the dedicated volunteerismof inspired leaders this growth has occurred slowly over time.
For roughly 25 years I have volunteered as editor of theDanceCouncil North Texas publication—nowentitledDance!North Texas. In this posi- tion I have delighted inmeeting and learning about themovers and shakers in dance throughout the state and
beyond. My service in this capacity has been gratifying. It has been filledwith discovery and pride in knowing thatDCNT’swork promoted and supported growth in the North Texas’ dance community. For some time nowI have been look- ing for a younger arts professionalwhowants tomake an impact on the field and take on the position as editor ofDance!North
Texas. After much contemplation, I have decided it’s time to resign as editor. If you are interested in serving the community in this capacity, please email:

Asmy life begins to shift in different directions, I look forward to exploring newopportunities.Whatwill the future hold? I do not know, but I feel certain thatmy passion for promoting the artswill be ongo- ing. Itwill simply find itself expressed and realized in other forms.
