CodeWord Appliances Are Not On Zero Discount List

Just a word of warning to be vigilant and check if manufacturers are taking discount off items not on ZD List. ZD commonly creates payment problems. You are recommended to: • Check the Drug Tariff to see if an item is on the Zero Discount List.

• When ordering something you do not normally dispense, check if the manufacturer will be applying a

discount or not.

• For items that don’t have a code, but appear on the ZD List, you should clearly endorse the prescription as ZD to ensure a discount amount is not clawed back.

BUT Appliances, apart from any dressing listed in Wound Management in the NI Formulary, are not included on the Zero Discount list. You will not be able to claim ZD, so you will have discount clawed back.

A pharmacy recently noticed that they do not receive discount on Actilymph Garment Made to Measure ordered directly from Credenhill. The order was worth over £150

Access NI

UCA is now a registered Access NI Umbrella Body for the pharmacy sector. UCA members can apply for Standard or Enhanced Access NI employee checks through UCA where you have less than 20 applications a year.
