Getting around The main A422 runs through Inkberrow, which is between the county’s cathedral city of Worcester and popular Stratford-upon-Avon, both 13 miles away. Junctions 6 and 7 of the M5 at Worcester are approximately 12 miles away, while the A46 and A435 at nearby Alcester, 5 miles away, give direct access to the M40 and the M42 and Birmingham. Trains run from Worcester and Pershore to Oxford, London’s Paddington and New Street Birmingham and from Stratford-Upon- Avon to London’s Euston and Marylebone. For air travel Birmingham Airport is just 30 miles away.
Maybird Shopping Park offers more than 20 retail giants. If that’s not enough Birmingham’s Bullring with its flagship Selfridges store and more than 160 others, is only 25 miles away.
Taking time out Inkberrow is a vibrant and lively village offering clubs, sports and activities for all ages. There’s local football, tennis and cricket clubs and a dedicated sports pavilion. The Millennium Green is a tranquil wildlife haven with ponds, flora, fauna and a restored moat. For indoor sports there’s leisure centres at Pershore, Studley and Worcester.
A trip to the shops Inkberrow’s own Forge Shop provides a general store and newsagents. Just 5 miles away in Alcester, you’ll find a selection of local, often family-run shops and a Waitrose supermarket. The largely pedestrianised Worcester city centre offers distinct shopping quarters including the Crowngate and Cathedral Plaza centres, featuring national UK brands alongside smaller independents. The impressive Ragley Hall Park and Gardens at Alcester, is one of the area’s leading attractions for all ages. Worcester’s stunning cathedral beside the River Severn is steeped in history and in Stratford- Upon-Avon the birthplace of William Shakespeare draws tourists from around the world. Tour the famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre, take a boat trip along the River Avon, or visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Gardens, the farmhouse home of Shakespeare’s wife at nearby Shottery.
Education Inkberrow First School takes pupils aged from 5 to 9 years and there are two schools for pupils aged 9 to 11, St Nicholas’ Church of England Middle School at Pinvin and Pershore Middle School. Pershore High School caters for senior pupils up to 18. One of the region’s leading independent schools is King’s at Worcester with 2 junior and 1 senior school and also in Worcester is RGS, the UK’s fifth oldest school, a co-educational independent for pupils aged 11 to 18.
