environment for discerning adults whilst also being family friendly. The highlight for the girls was the ‘Chocolate Fudge Sundae’ with hot chocolate sauce which came in a bottle which could be poured over this wicked dessert.
After dinner we headed for drinks in the iconic Brabazon bar right at the heart of the hotel, the place to meet and mingle. The bar itself creates a dazzling first impression with its brushed steel top and emerald green colour scheme. Above it, a central glass dome floods the space with light during the day and is creatively lit during the evening, while the mirrors and polished pewter reflect the ever-changing shades around the interior. We sat on large sofa’s and never got to order drinks as the girls were falling asleep – so decided instead to return to the room.
The following morning we awoke and instead of venturing down to breakfast in the Ryder Grill where there is a good selection of full English and continental, we opted for room service which was definetly the right choice as the girls only awoke when the door was knocked at 9.30 and three staff entered carrying three large trays filled with the breakfast choices I had made the night before. I’d made amendments on the card replacing tomatoes for beans and fried eggs for poached and was a little dubious that this would be ok, but, to our delight everything came as ordered and tasted as good as it smelt. Full stomahcs, again, it was time to see if we had any future golf stars in our midst with a visit to the Ryder Legends Mini Golf
RYDER LEGENDS MINI GOLF:
The Ryder Legends Mini Golf Course takes inspiration from the fact that The Belfry is the only venue to host the prestigious tournament four times and it provides fun for all the family. The course is quite challenging but fun too and creates lots of laughter as the odd ball ends up in water or a bunker…no naming names from our party….
I’ve only mentioned a few of the great activities on offer but there’s also giant lawn games with chess, jenga, skittles, hoopla and Connect 4 on a giant scale and for those that want to relax away from kids, there’s a crèche which is Ofsted registered. Here your little ones can enjoy arts and crafts in the creative corner, discover exciting toys and games in the soft play area or dive straight into the ball pool. All fun and interactive activities take place in a stimulating and safe environment.
Explore The Belfry as a family and use it as a great base from which to enjoy other attractions across the Midlands. They have various pack- ages but one you might like this summer is the Drayton Manor pack- age which includes one or two nights’ stay, full English breakfast, tickets to the theme park and dining is optional, just £199 per room.
