Henley McKay AGA - A BRITISH ICON REDEFINED

What comes to mind when you think of an AGA? Warm farmhouses, beautiful baking, relaxed and country living - we are all in love to some degree with the romance of an AGA. However, is it practical for today's living?

It used to be that an AGA cooker had to be on all the time. Not so now, with the Total Control Series cooker which run on electricity and have fast heat up times. Hotplates and ovens can be individually controlled and turned on manually or by remote programmable control, by text or even tablet and smartphone. The best part is that it has reduced running costs, using the slumber mode from just £5 per week.

For cookware, cookery techniques and short cuts, along with recipe ideas - Henley McKay Kitchens will be holding cookery demonstrations, throughout the year, explaining how to get the most from your AGA. Please give them a call to register your interest in the next demonstration.

Maybe there can be an AGA for everyone?!

WORKING FROM HOME CAN ADD VALUE TO YOUR PROPERTY

The work from home trend, isn’t just a trend, it’s fast becoming a new way of life which also enables businesses to recruit talented people not necessarily geographically close to their operating offices. It also is a cost-saving for businesses with less people in the building using facilities and less people to accommodate on a full-time basis. This presents home owners with a quandary – or opportunity? Working from home means a room in the house that isn’t used regularly could become a home office with a few alterations, or in fact to add value onto the house you could build an extension that allows that extra space to become a useful office – or if people stay over, a flexible bedroom.

Andy Miles, MD of AMAD explains, “We’ve undertaken build projects that are based on delivering a home office for clients, but when they realise the value it adds to the property, they have decided to add that extra bit of budget to create a double height extension adding bedrooms and for other clients ensuite bathroom and dressing room facilities. With so many people now working from home, that home office facility is a popular item on the property search check list!”.
