PHYSIOTHERAPIST AND IDD EXPERT JAMES ADAMSON
If you suffer with lower back pain, sciatica, or have been diagnosed with a degenerative disc condition, and your problem has not been helped by conservative management (e.g. exercise and physical therapy) James Adamson very well might be the answer to your prayers.
James is a physiotherapist with particular expertise in IDD therapy (Intervertebral Differential Dynamics) – a cutting-edge non-surgical spinal decompression therapy for back pain, neck pain and related problems like sciatica. IDD bridges the gap between the traditional, conservative spine therapies (such as physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic), and surgical intervention, offering clients another treatment option before surgery.
IDD works by delivering a consistent, targeted and measured decompressive force to targeted segments of the spine throughout each 25 minute treatment session - durations that a manual therapist would not be able to match. As a result, IDD can be extremely beneficial in reducing pain and increasing function in both acute and chronic disc-related spinal conditions.
James says ‘many clients who I take on for IDD have found themselves in a downward spiral where pain limits their ability to exercise, which in turn increases joint stiffness, weakens muscles, and increases their pain further. It’s a horrible situation for them. I have found that IDD has assisted greatly in breaking this negative cycle by helping maintain structural alignment and muscle length, whilst decompressing the spinal nerves. This in turn has allowed me to implement exercise therapy into the rehabilitation programme to reach each client’s individualised functional goals’.
James hosts a monthly open evening for anyone interested in finding out more about IDD on the last Wednesday of each month at Core Physiatry in Warwick. To find out more or book a place, contact the clinic on 01926 801111.
