I mean, you know how I said Led Zeppelin was a big influence, we played a festival earlier this year, or I guess the middle of last year actu- ally, in Napa, kind of near us, and we got to play main stage a couple of bands before Robert Plant, and that was the craziest thing. I mean the stage was gigantic. There were like three jumbo trons on stage and us with our string band instru- ments and no drums. We just took up like five percent of that stage, but it was amazing. You know, there tape on the stage that Robert Plant’s people had done at sound check earlier that day. They had put tape down like, “Robert Plant’s microphone stand goes here.” It was just a really cool experience and I’ve never felt anything quite like that before.
At first when you said Zeppe- lin, I thought you were going to say John Paul Jones, you know, he’s played out at Merlefest with the blue- grass players. Oh yeah, he’s like produced some albums and things, some like roots albums and blues and bluegrass albums. Yeah, he’s great.
I saw him jam out there with Chris from Nickel Creek. Oh, Chris, really?
Yeah, boy he was good. Even back then. He was just a kid when that happened, but I always liked that band, too. Any- way, if you could pick a person or a group that you could sit in and pick with, who would be your dream gig? Oh man, well, like I said, Devil Makes Three, they’ve always been a big influence. We went on tour with them last year so we got to do a little bit of that, which was great. Or two
years ago.? Wow! Man, time flies, doesn’t it? They took us on tour up and down the West Coast, over to Montana and that was amaz- ing. We had kind of grown up in our teen age years, and I guess in our early twenties, l big fans of them, and to be able to tour with them was such a big, big deal for us. Just an honor. And we got to play huge rooms, great crowds, their fans are insane in the best kind of way so that was a big honor for us. We got to live that and that was really cool.
Well buddy, thank you for your time. We wish you the best of luck. Every- thing seems to be going your way and I hope it only gets better for you. Cool. Thank you very much. •
