This is part of an Arts Council Project – Writing Places – set up to celebrate the rich literary heritage of the South West. Miriam, a poet, performer and arts facilitator has been getting a feel for what may have inspired the Queen of Crime whilst bringing writing to life for visitors to Agatha Christie’s favourite holiday home. If you want to see the fruits of her work why not go along to events on 12 & 13 July at Greenway. Contact: 01803 842382 or check the By The Dart or National Trust websites for more information.

Great Big Rhino Project

From 30 July – 9 October The Great Big Rhino Project will bring a world class mass public art event to the streets, parks and open spaces of the English Riviera and Exeter. After the success of The Great Gorillas Project in 2013 these life-size rhino sculptures will inhabit the streets, showcasing the wealth of artistic talent in the area, while highlighting the significant conservation threat facing wild rhinos and how the local business community can make a difference. Coleton Fishacre will be hosting their very own “Rupert” Rhino which has been designed and decorated by the children at Kingswear Primary School with the help of National Trust English Riviera. For more information check the website www.greatbigrhinos.org.uk
