pen the door to Victoria House and you will realise you are not entering the average dental
practice. Although small and homely, the practice has more of the feel of a friendly boutique hotel rather than a typical waiting room. The décor is soft and welcoming and gentle music distracts. Victoria House offers NHS care for children and private care for adults. The pricing structure is intentionally kept modest so as to make the practice accessible to all. “We have probably the lowest Denplan fees in the
region, which surprises many patients who think all Denplan fees are the same in all practices,” comments Peter.
he took over the practice 3 years ago and they pride themselves on their friendly approach, knowing a great many of the patients personally. “We have continued to grow the practice over the
past years and have added to our team. As a tutor at the Peninsula Dental School I am able to access all the modern dental trends and techniques as well as recruit the best colleagues. To that end we have recently welcomed Dr Kerry Gittins, who provides comprehensive orthodontic care to young and old alike and Dr Ali van den Berg, who, after knowing for 30 years, I have finally persuaded this is the best place to be!” Says Peter, who also will be keen to tell you his two hygienists, Jo and Lindsey, are the best he personally has ever worked with and “really get the results we all crave.” Also with Lindsey being a therapist too she is able to offer a wider scope of care to her patients, such as some fillings when needed. Also having worked in different practices over the
years it has been brought to my attention that people are keen to know where I have finally put down roots! So now, although a small practice we can cater for
all requirements including all the usual plus invisible braces, implants, tooth whitening, hygiene therapy and thorough prevention which is our watch word. Victoria House is constantly “tweaking” its services
whether that be via written patient feedback or its Facebook exposure. All the team are keen to “show and tell” all we do so patients are kept fully informed with how their care will be managed. The number of thank you cards around the practice are a testament to the whole team’s dedication.
“Our door is always open to welcome any new patients who would like “dentistry that caters for your personal needs and where your opinion matters to us.” Dr Peter Baldwin who owns the practice has
