Bye for now, D.P.

QF Focus Magazine Hi All.

A name that doesn’t need any introduction to most of us living here on the South Costa Blanca, is none other than Richie Alexander. Having lived in the area for the past 10 years, Richie is now amongst the most popular solo performing artistes around. His busy work schedule bears testament to this.

Richie Alexander hails from

Sheffield. Coming from a musical family, it was apparent from an early age that a career in music (his mother was a vocal coach, whilst his father was an accomplished guitarist) would be a natural progression.

Richie’s initial foray in the entertainment industry began at the age of 14 when he began performing in the Northern clubs and holiday parks.

By 16 he was doing many support gigs with the Stylistics, Edwin Starr, Stan Boardman, Duncan Norville Jimmy James & the Vagabonds and many more. Besides gigging 5 nights a week, Richie was also working 6 days a week in a music shop in his home city. By the time he was 29 he was exhausted after this relentless workload, and when the opportunity arose to come and live and work in Spain he didn’t hesitate.

Soul music has always been at the forefront of his life, along with Northern Soul and Tamla Motown. 3 years ago Richie was approached by Simon Morton, owner of Sunshine FM local radio station and asked to present a “Soul Show”. Initially he was concerned about his strong Yorkshire accent. 3 years later as well as this regular spot, Richie also presents the weekend breakfast show.

In conversation this very talented performer remarked how fortunate he was to have a career that he loves and comes so natural to him, but his greatest pleasure comes from seeing his audience having a good time enjoying his music, and themselves, at the same time.

This coming November Richie Alexander will be at the Benidorm Palace with the Stylistics and Ray Lewis, the last surviving member of the Drifters. Wow! That sounds like a fantastic evening’s entertainment.

If you want to catch one of Richie’s performances check out the local press.
