Book title: Taxi - The Harry Chapin Story Author: Peter Coan

Publisher: Carol Publishing Many years ago whilst driving to work I heard the song W.O.L.D. played on the radio... I though to myself "I like that" and thus my lifelong passion for the music of Harry Forster Chapin was born.

Harry Chapin was born in 1942 in New York... he tragically died also in New York on 16th July 1981 after a short life of 38 years, in which he changed

the world for the better. He developed the music style known as 'Story Songs'... he worked to rid the world of hunger and he supported an entire arts and ballet movement in the New York area. Now as you read this I think you will be saying to yourself Harry who? However if you know the songs 'Taxi', 'Cat's in the Cradle', 'Circle', and 'I Wanna Learn a Love Song' to name just a few, you will at least have a grasp of the talent the man had. This book tells Harry Chapin's story from early life to his untimely death... It is a real

eye opener and if you read the book you will find yourself reading about a modern day poet, singer and story teller ...a social activist and a musical genius. The world is a sadder place without Harry Forster Chapin.
