Welcome to the first issue of 2016, we hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year and have stuck to any New Year resolutions you have made. Mine is to schedule time for me and I have booked a weeks stay in a lovely Guest House in May on the Norfolk broads.

In this issue we look at the challenges of increasing online bookings, David Weston, CEO of the Bed & Breakfast Association, discusses the importance of image and how professional photography is vital to increase occupancy.

We take a look inside two Bed & Breakfasts - Merzie Meadows in Kent and Greshornish House on the Isle of Skye. Our overseas profile this issue is Carrig House on the ring of Kerry in Ireland overlooking the Caragh lake with beautiful views of the Macgillicuddy Reeks, Ireland’s Highest Mountain range.

Murray Roberts from Aslotel discusses green issues in his latest column and we continue with our funny stories page with some crackers from around the UK to keep you all amused.

Wishing you all a good start to 2016 onward and upwards. Chris Keightley, Editor
