we know winter is approaching because many of us have recent- ly returned from a trip to The Novice Championships, the All American Quarter Horse Congress or the World Show in Oklahoma City. These shows define the end of show season for many of us and the onset of a few cold, wintery months for us here in Ontario. For some of us, this means that we take a
well-deserved break from show- ing or trail riding, but for others this means heading to warmer climates to continue competing in the southern circuits. Whatev- er is in store for you and your four legged friends over the winter, be safe and enjoy! Ontario has a lot to be proud of and I would like to per- sonally congratulate each and every one who has been out enjoying their quarter horses this past season. Whether you attended your first AQHA Novice show, started competing in a new discipline, took up trail riding, or attended one of the prestigious AQHA World Shows, you are enjoying your American Quarter Horse and

While attending shows across Ontario, into the US and watching live feeds of the Level 1 Championships, the All American Quarter Horse Congress, NSBA World Show, or the AQHA World Shows, Ontario exhibitors are having extremely great success! approaches, I realize that I am nearing the end of my fourth tenure as OQHA President. Looking back over the past few years, I am very proud to have
been involved with such an amazing association and I do hope that our members feel that I, together with the OQHA board of directors, have made a positive impact and helped ensure our association continues to prosper. It is soon time to hand over this role to someone new, someone who will have the enthusiastic passion and the drive to continue to move this association forward. The new OQHA executive will be appointed at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in Jan- uary and I would like to encour- age every one of our members to think about becoming more involved. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in a year and OQHA needs new ideas, new enthusiasm, and new vol- unteers each and every year.
