The country came to the
city for the 93rd Royal Agricul- tural Winter Fair from Nov. 6- 15 and the Ontario Equestrian Federation was back with draw prizes, a member appreciation party, autograph sessions with famous riders, clinics, riding demonstrations and much more. To thank its members for
their loyal patronage, the Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) hosted a member appre- ciation party in the OEF booth on the Tuesday evening of the show. Sponsored by MAAAX™ Equine Feed, the party gave members the oppor- tunity to enjoy pizza and light refreshments while catching up with friends in the horse com- munity. Members were also given a ballot for a draw to win MAAAX™ LONGfibe™ for- age and Sandra Greer of Kitch- ener walked away with a year’s supply of forage cubes. The OEF also showed its
appreciation throughout the show by giving members a chance to win their choice of six different draw prizes. Members received one ballot by showing their 2015 membership card and were given a second ballot for renewing their 2016 member- ship. Congratulations to the
draw winners: Omega Alpha Equine Prize Bas- ket – Resse Anderson, Bobcay- geon System Fencing Tuff Handler Dolly – Ruth Horn, Toronto Horse Country Campground Sunset Ride and Dinner for Two – Cathryn Belanger, Oshawa Horse Country Campground Camping Weekend for Two – Elissa Bach, Mount Albert BFL CANADA prize Bucket and Picov’s Gift Card – Steph Horgan Smith, Stouffville MAAAX™ LONGfibe™ for- age for one horse for one year – Sue Vander Kooij, Acton Prizes included two differ-

Those who renewed at the

from Monday to Wednesday of the show and offered a Boulet sports bag on all other days of the show when members spent $50 or more at the Picov’s booth. In the OEF/RAWF Fan
Zone, equestrian enthusiasts had the opportunity to meet a num- ber of special guests. Signing autographs in the fan zone were Canadian Show Jumpers Ian Millar and his son, Jonathon Millar; Canadian Eventers Jessi- ca Phoenix, Kendal Lehari, Holly Jacks, Waylon Roberts and Selena O’Hanlon, author and judge Randy Roy and his daughter, Hunter/Jumper rider Ryan Roy; Canadian Dressage riders Belinda Trussell and Jacqueline Brooks; and Amber Marshall, star of CBC’s Heart- land.
Turbo the goat, the unoffi-
cial mascot of the Royal Agri- cultural Winter Fair who made headlines as he toured Toronto leading up to the Royal, also dropped in to the OEF/RAWF Fan Zone. After trying to eat Amber Marshall’s autograph card, he met the Millars and reportedly received a few jump- ing pointers from Captain Cana- da. “He complimented me on my scope. Maybe we will do the
Canine Equine Challenge next year together,” Turbo tweeted following his visit, which left the Millars in laughter when he put his hooves up on the auto- graph table. In the President’s Choice
Animal Theatre in Hall D, the OEF organized several clinics designed to educate and enter- tain. Darcy Hayes and Di Lang- muir each hosted a Hunter clin- ic; Waylon Roberts gave the audience a taste of Eventing; Hyde Moffatt hosted a Show Jumping clinic; and Diane Creech wowed spectators with a Dressage Freestyle presentation. The OEF also facilitated
the Spirit of the Horse demon- strations, which showcased the Arabian horse, Paso Fino, Gypsy Vanner, Kiger Mustang, Thoroughbred, Friesian and competitive trail riding. The OEF would like to
thank everyone who made the 2015 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair a success. Watch for us again next year! We will be back with new and exciting ways to celebrate our members. For more information on
