Dog Owners Beware The winter months can be
excruciating on white-tailed deer populations and domestic dogs on the loose will only make it worse. Pet owners who allow their animals to run wild regardless of the breed are not only breaking the law, their actions can be devastating to deer at a fragile time of year. MNRF Conservation Officers deal with belligerent pet-owners every winter and are authorized to destroy any dogs observed chasing, or injuring, deer in areas where they yard-up for the winter. Penalties for allowing your dog to run wild during the closed season for deer range from $155 up to $25,000.
2015 Ford Edge Sport This fall, during moose season,
I had the opportunity to road-test the 2015 Ford Edge Sport. The Edge is a rugged CUV which is, in my opinion, positioned neatly in the uncluttered ‘two-row seating’ midsize CUV/SUV size-class. It is larger and more luxurious than the Escape, but not the roomy 7-passenger vehicle of the Explorer. The Sport Edition I tested came with a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 under the hood with more than enough snap to propel me soundly around the twists and turning roads of the Quebec Laurentians. The Edge Sport felt as though it was custom made for hilly terrain with fully upgraded MacPherson struts on the front, and a rear multilink independent suspension to replace its predecessors trailing arm design. Overall ride quality felt solid and fluid even on rough dirt roads. The interior of the 2015 Edge also received a full make-over from the outgoing model, boasting improved leg-room and more overall space. There appeared to be ample room for third-row seating yet designers at Ford chose to keep the Edge a 5-passenger vehicle. As a result, there is more than enough cargo space for a ton of groceries, or my in case, boxes and bags of

hunting gear and supplies. I took the Edge down several backwoods roads around the hunt camp and it performed beautifully with plenty of ground clearance. My time spent with the 2015 Edge Sport touring the mountains back home was terrific. For more information, check out the Ford of Canada site:
