Free-fall tube For demonstrating that all bodies fall with the same speed in a vacuum. Consists of an acrylic plastic tube Ø 30 x 900 mm, stopper with valve, magnet, steel ball and paper disc.
1977.00 Free-fall tube Free fall apparatus
This equipment is used in free fall experiments, showing the in- dependence of the mass of the falling object, testing the equa- tions of motion. Even the situation where aerodynamic drag is no longer negligible can be covered. The free fall apparatus works with the 2002.50 electronic counter or the 2002.60 student timer. Connections are done with standard 4 mm safety connector. The release mechanism at the top sends a start pulse to the timer when the ball is released, and a stop pulse is generated when the ball hits the contact plate at the bottom. No external power supply is needed – no risk of overheated coils. Four gold-plated steel balls and a ping-pong ball with metal thumb tacks are provided. Also included is a mirror to minimize parallax errors. Cables and stand not included.

Falling bodies apparatus
Demonstrates how the vertical free fall is independent of any horizontal component of velocity. Place one ball on each end of the swing arm and push the trig- ger. One ball is dropped and the other is launched horizontally, the simultaneous “click” as both balls hit the floor at the same time proves the point. Supplied with two Ø 19 mm balls in a storage pocket. Dimensions: L 180 mm, W 170 mm, H 50 mm.
