2015 Associate Council Chair

BETH HOLMAN Tri-Tech Surveying/BEC-LIN Engineering

T

The summer is heating up and so is the Associate Council! The associates took a hi- atus in July, but are back in full swing in Au- gust. We’re getting things off on the right foot with an amazing panel of speakers for the Council’s next luncheon on August 6. We’ll be hearing from the “Inner Loopers” Sharone Mayberry of Mayberry Homes, Mike Dishberger of Sandcastle Homes, and Tonnie Milligan of ROC Homes. The theme will be “Back to School,” but don’t worry, you won’t have to know much about his- tory, biology, a science book or the French you took. Simply show up to our meeting and gain a deeper knowledge of the Inner Loop taught by the scholars themselves!

I want to thank the amazing speakers who came out to the June summer-themed lunch: Bo Butler with Butler Brothers Con- struction; 2015 Custom Builders Council Chair Katy Hawes with Jamestown Estate Homes; and Andrew Foote, Partners in Building. These builders brought the heat and shared some great insight on the cus- tom builder world. Congratulations to Da- vid Feldmeyer with Omega Wine Rooms, the raffle winner for June.

lizing your GHBA membership. It brings to mind a quote from a wise ol’ member of the Associate Council, “Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.” You’ll get out of your membership, what you put into it, and it takes time.

If you are not yet on a committee, consider joining one. The best way to form relation- ships is to get involved! There are opportu- nities to join several committees including, speaker planning, community service, BBQ cook-off, golf tournament, chili cook-off, sponsorship and membership.

For more information on any of these committees feel free to email me at bholman@tritechtx.com or Peggy Means at pmeans@ghba.org. We would be more than happy to point you in the right di- rection and to help you maximize your GHBA membership.

It’s time to start thinking about those mouthwatering ribs, tender briskets and smoldering chickens… yes, the Associate Council BBQ Cook-off is only a few months away! Stay tuned for more information in the next few months and attend our monthly lunches for the latest scoop.

See you there!
