PROJECTS GREG MADREY TO SERVE AS GHBA’S 2016 ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT

The GHBA is pleased to announce that Greg Madrey, a long-time member of the Association, was recently nominated by the Leadership Development Committee as the GHBA associate vice president for 2016.

“Greg Madrey is clearly dedicated to the GHBA through his company Suncoast Post-Tension, and with his broad industry knowledge and generous nature, continues to add depth to our growing organization,” said Kevin Frankel, GHBA president.

In June 2015, Greg Madrey celebrated his 12 year anniversary with Suncoast Post-Tension, a concrete reinforcement material supplier, where he serves as the branch manager and a sales representative. Suncoast Post-Tension is the largest supplier of post-tension materials for buildings and foundations in the U.S. Suncoast has been a supporting member of the GHBA since 1989, Platinum Sponsor since 2010, a Pinnacle Sponsor since 2014, and actively supports the Benefit Homes Project and HomeAid Houston.

Greg has been very active in the GHBA, serving on the GHBA board of directors, chairing the Associate Council Speaker Planning Committee, and as a member of the Volume Builders Committee. Greg holds a Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) designation. Greg is also active in HomeAid Houston, a GHBA charity, serving on the Project Selection Committee, and was recently selected to the HomeAid board. He is also looking forward to serving on the 2016 HomeAid Golf Committee.

“It is truly an honor to be the nominee for associate vice president in 2016,” said Greg. “I have enjoyed becoming more involved in the GHBA in recent years and am looking forward to serving the members of this fine organization in this expanded role.”

A Baylor University graduate, Greg began his career in the building industry working for Georgia-Pacific Corporation in the building ma- terial distribution divisions at Fort Worth, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Marietta, Georgia facilities. In 1998, Greg accepted a position with Louisiana-Pacific Corporation in Conroe, managing sales for multiple southern yellow pine lumber mills. Currently, Greg resides in Kingwood with his wife, Alison, and their two daughters, Lauren (8) and Anna (6).

BRANDON LYNCH JOINS “40 UNDER 40” ROSTER

It’s no secret that the industry is in need of young, ambitious profes- sionals to take it into the next era. Brandon Lynch, owner of Keechi Creek Builders and a GHBA board member, was named among Professional Remodeler’s “40 Under 40” for 2015. This prestigious group of

up-and-comers run the gamut from project management to marketing to design. But while their skill sets may vary greatly, they all have one thing in common: sheer excellence.

Brandon Lynch is a natural born leader. A big-picture thinker with the heart of an entrepreneur, he started his own company in 2007. Since then, he has expanded from smaller jobs to ambitious whole-house remodels.

But Brandon’s greatest strength may be his visionary approach. Rather than focus only on the jobs in his market today, he looks at the remod- eling industry overall and tries to place himself in the sweet spot for future trends. To that end, he’s a Certified Green Professional, a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, and is working on a Graduate Master Builder designation. He also educates consumers about universal design and sustainable remodeling practices through seminars and television spots.

Recently Brandon entered the custom building market and is construct- ing spec homes in two high-end neighborhoods in the Houston area. His goal is to differentiate his company’s work from the uninspiring designs that “are like something you might pull from a magazine of 1,000 House Plans.’” Instead, Brandon believes that “a house must have a soul before it can become a home.”

This passion for high ideals fuels not only his boots-on-the-ground remodeling, but also his commitment to giving back. Like everything else he does, Brandon’s charitable activities are Texas-size: Last year, he led a team of 12 companies to remodel the Santa Maria Hostel, a facility that helps women in crisis.
