2015 Associate Council Chair

BETH HOLMAN Tri-Tech Surveying/BEC-LIN Engineering

T

The Associate Council is a venue for vendors to work together to better serve the needs of builders and to help construct better homes for the consumer. We also focus on building relationships between all members of the GHBA. The council’s meetings and events are great places to form connections. They provide opportunities to network among other associates as well as builders. Associate Council lunches typically feature builders from different backgrounds; we ask them questions to get to know more about their businesses as well as them personally. It is a great time to learn more about your customers or potential prospects and begin to form those long lasting bonds.

The associates had an extraordinary May meeting as we welcomed a panel of production builders—Austin Eaves with Perry Homes, Mireya Gordillo with Greeneco Builders, and Gary Free with Castlerock Communities. Special thanks to the Speaker Planning Committee, which does a fantastic job of lining up must-see speakers each month. If there is a topic you would like to see featured, the committee is always looking for new ideas. Contact the speaker committee chair, Greg Madery at gmadrey@suncoast-pt.com. Each month we hold a raffle and choose a winner, who is then invited to our end of year exclusive speaker appreciation mixer. This month’s

winner was Karen Kinton with Compliance Resources Incorporated.

Summer time is upon us and our June luncheon will feature a few hot, hot, hot custom builders! We are very excited to have Bo Bulter, the 2015 Custom Builders Council

chair and president of Butler

Brothers Construction; Katy Hawes with Jamestown Estate Homes; and Andrew Foote with Partners in Building. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about them, their businesses, and how you could potentially partner with them.

Sponsoring an Associate Council lunch is a great way to get face-to-face time with our speakers. Sponsors are welcome to each lunch with the speakers before the meeting and are also given the opportunity to give a short presentation highlighting their business to the council. Please contact Rocky Flores at rflores@datasmartllc.com or Peggy Means at pmeans@ghba.org for more information on how to sponsor.

As we go forward in 2015, focus on developing those relationships. Take time to attend the meetings and events put on by the other councils and divisions. Together, we promote the GHBA’s mission, “To provide advocacy, education, professional development, and valuable services to its members and the homebuilding industry.”
