This year, the Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) is focusing on giving back, so the board of directors has decided to host a Diaper Drive benefiting The Diaper Foundation.

The Diaper Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps provide diaper assistance and other services for Houston area children. Through awareness, education, and material aid to young mothers, the foundation aims to keep every child clean, dry, and healthy—one diaper at a time. In low income households, babies often spend an entire day or longer in a single diaper because the family cannot afford to buy new ones, putting them at risk for health issues and abuse. Federally funded programs including SNAP Food Stamps and The Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC), do not cover the cost of diapers for low income parents. A sufficient supply of diapers can cost well over $100 per month, per child. To learn more about The Diaper Foundation visit

maudain@ghba.org. No amount collected is too small to donate! Companies who meet the minimum level of participation will be entered into a drawing for a chance to be our guest at the 2015 Houston’s Best PRISM Awards. Winners will be announced on LABOR DAY, September 7, via the SMC Facebook page.

Your Houston Astros boast the best record in the American League. It’s been a stellar season, and we invite you to join us for Texas Bash on Friday, June 12 at Minute Maid Park, as the Astros take on the division rival Seattle Mariners. Texas Bash is a fun networking event, open to all members of our industry. Invite your outside sales folks and your vendors. There will be something for everyone. Kids will have the opportunity to meet the Astros mascot, Orbit, in The Champions Pavilion. Adults will have fun bidding on the fabulous silent auction items. The evening will end with a magnificent fireworks display. Hope to see you there!

Houston’s Best PRISM Awards Call for Entries is in full swing. We made a few changes this year including adding some new categories for remodelers. We are also requiring NEW
Private Residence Letters (for certain Custom and
Remodeler categories) be signed by
homeowners. These letters are now required to be signed before we will judge a private residence in person. Contact the judging committee for more details.
