GHBA completes outdoor renovations, just in time for summer events S

Summer is here, and you know what that means—lots of events at your association! The GHBA has been doing some outdoor renovations to spruce up the place, including a beautiful outdoor kitchen and pergola. The latest project was resurfacing the walkway leading up to the building.

“GHBA wishes to give a big thank you to Michael Raney and Surface Systems of Texas for making us a great deal on resurfacing the walkway,” say Toy Wood, CEO of the GHBA. “If you haven’t been to the office lately, stop by and take a look!”

These renovations not only bring added value to the GHBA and its members, but will offer more on-site event opportunities for our various councils and committees.

“On behalf of all of us at Surface Systems of Texas, I would like to thank the GHBA for allowing us the opportunity to improve the appearance of the entry at the GHBA headquarters,” says Michael Raney. “It may have been a little self-serving since we are in the concrete refinishing business, but the condition of the sidewalk has bothered us since we first joined!”

“Seriously though, it was an honor to be able to do this. We recognize the invaluable service GHBA provides to all members in the way of education and

advocacy, as well as the opportunity to build lifelong relationships. We only wish we had joined sooner, and strongly recommend that any company serious about the homebuilding industry do so as soon as possible,” Raney adds.

Surface Systems of Texas is a Houston based contractor providing decorative concrete and concrete coatings to home builders. In business since 2002, Surface Systems provides both interior and exterior concrete refinishing, garage floor coatings, stamped concrete over- lays, acid/dye staining, texture coats, a beautifully unique product called Liquid Dazzle, and broom finish resurfacing and drainage correction. The company also offers a range of commercial solutions.

Homebuilders know Surface Systems for its professionalism, providing the highest quality work, on time, and at a fair price. As a testimony to the way the company does business, Surface Systems received the 2014 BBB Pinnacle Award for Excellence. The award is a recognition of quality and a commitment to overall excellence, and each year is given to only one company in each business category among its 7,700 members.

“Our most popular product is called ‘ColorFlake’ and is similar to what we

applied to the GHBA sidewalks,” says Raney. “Most commonly applied to garage floors, this system is similar in appearance to terrazzo or granite, in colors and styles from subtle to bold. ColorFlake is a low maintenance, slip resistant coating using proven, time tested components which will last indefinitely, and is sure to please every buyer.”

Garages are typically the most unfinished area of any home, but this trend is changing rapidly. Buyers are requiring that this huge forgotten room be finished as well, and much prefer to have it done before they move in. ColorFlake provides builders with another profit center, in addition to the benefit of providing a beautiful remedy to all the construction damage and cosmetic defects in the concrete, eliminating the need to ex- plain cracks, stains, breakouts, and poor concrete finishing.

Whether it’s a garage floor coating or another offering, you can trust Surface Systems’ expertise, attention to de- tail and finishing touches provide the “Wow!” factor, and enhance your buyers’ enjoyment of your special homes.
