AUCHRANNIE RESORT
into one of the country’s top holiday destinations. With
almost 150 members
of staff today, the Auchrannie has also been an important boost to the island’s econo- my. From the first smiling faces on reception as guests arrive through the front doors, to the bar staff, waiters and leisure attendants and housekeeping staff behind the scenes, each and every member of the team keeps the hotel running like clockwork. Whether staying in the hotel or just looking for a meal the re- sort offers a wide range of res- taurants to suit every budget. At eighteen69, in the hotel’s iconic glass house, there is a ‘Scottish Tapas’ styled restau- rant with a laid back ambience. The idea is to allow diners to try a wide selection of small dishes and many of the items are locally sourced offering the likes of: Arran venison meat- balls, lightly battered Cumbrae oyster and baked Arran cam- embert, Wooley’s oatcakes and Paterson’s of Arran plum and apple chutney on an ex- tensive menu.
The drinks on offer also reflect the dining experience with a focus on sparkling wines, champagnes and unique 1869 cocktails designed to comple- ment the flavours of the dishes being served. For those looking for good food in a relaxing atmosphere Brambles Seafood and Grill is ideal for both lunches and dinners or just a coffee by their roaring fire. Stylish, modern and contemporary, the Cruize Bar Brasserie is popular with the locals. Cruize is perfect if you want to sit and enjoy a three-course meal in the res- taurant or relax with a book and a coffee on the comfy couches while the kids spend time in the play room. No
island escape would
be complete without some pampering and the ASPA at Auchrannie offers luxurious treatment rooms to help you relax and enjoy some ‘me time’. The sumptuous sur- roundings are simply heaven- ly as you’d leave the outside world behind in order to un- wind at the hands of the expe- rienced spa therapists.
Auchrannie also has an ex- tensive range of leisure facili- ties which can be enjoyed by both hotel guests, members and those staying elsewhere on the island. There are two indoor swimming pools and a wide selection of cardio and resistance equipment in the resort’s two fitness suites. On a rainy day why not book some time in the purpose built games hall for a game of ten- nis, badminton, table tennis, or bowls or any other team sports that takes your fancy? For the younger members of your party there is the fan- tastic three-tier indoor mega softplay at the Playbarn which seems to go down a treat with both parents and children alike. And for those looking for something a little bit more adventurous, Arran Adventure based at Auchrannie offers everything from sea kayaking, climbing, gorge walking, ar- chery, abseiling and mountain biking - it’s a great way to ex- perience the island’s beautiful landscape in the safe hands of qualified and experienced instructors.
