he Auchrannie is not just a hotel it is a destination resort all in its own right. It is a fantastic family-friend- ly resort which is the perfect place to relax, eat, pamper and play while here on Arran. The business was acquired by the Johnston Family in 1988 with a view to providing indoor leisure facilities on the island. In the process of achieving this objective it has grown from a 16-bedroom guest house to a resort now comprising two four star hotels with 65 rooms, 30 five-star, self-catering lux- ury lodges, three iconic res- taurants, a shop, two leisure clubs with pools, a destination spa, outdoor adventure centre and a children’s ‘Playbarn’. And a 20-room extension is nearing completion. The resort remains under the ownership of the Johnston family who continue to play an active role in turning the resort
