It was built in the late 19th century to re-house estate workers who were liv- ing in almost ruined thatched cottages. Hamilton Terrace was built behind these old cottages and when they were ready the people moved off the shoreline into the new hous- es and the old ones were knocked down. Lamlash golf club is perched on a hill as you travel into the village from Brodick. This nine-hole course is another example of a fabulous golf course and is well worth a visit.

Lamlash has been a popular tourist destination for many years and continues to at- tract holidaymakers every year.
