a vehicle in Bull Lane, Eccles. A window of a property in Howard


Road, East Mallingwas smashed. Toolswere stolen from a Citroen van on


a driveway in Mackenders Lane, Eccles. A flour-like substancewas poured over


two vehicles outside a property in Temple Way, East Malling. The wheel nuts on one wheel of an Iveco


Daily truckwere tampered with in Mackenders Lane, Eccles, damaging the wheel and the vehicle. Therewas an aempt to burgle a property in Dion Place, Dion but the alarmwas activated which may have deterred the intruders. Therewas a break-in at a property in ChatfieldWay, East Malling. A tyre was slashed on a vehicle on the

BudgetAt the policy and resources and full council budget meetings, therewas a full discussion regarding the budget for 2015 to 2016. Although councillors would have preferred not to have to increase the council tax, itwas evident that a small increase


would be necessary to take into account inflation and salary increases, together with the need to start work on the extension of the cemetery. Itwas agreed unanimously that there would be an increase of £1.07 per year based on BandDproperties. This equates to just more than 2p perweek.


Wateringbury


Budget Councillors approved the 2015/16 budget which showed a small increase in the precept to reflect the cost of the overflow car park for the playing fields on land at Drayhorse Meadow. Crime Therewere no reported crimes in the village in the previous month. Thanks Cllr MichaelWells and his wife were thanked by the chairman for their hard work in clearing the ivy and tidying the area at the junction of Pizienwell and Tonbridge Road. Borough maers Borough Cllr Simon Jessel reported on maers of local interest and was asked to look into the progress of the proposed landscaping buffer at the top of Canon Lane and a tree with a preservation order in Red Hill. Highways Items from the agenda for a forthcoming area highways commiee meetingwere discussed with Charles Stroud who represents the council. The chairman thanked Charles and his small SpeedWatch team for their work. Charles said that on average, 25 to 30 vehicleswere found to be speeding in any SpeedWatch monitoring hour. Planning The council had no objections to the application for a single storey extension at 101 Red Hill.

Peugeot 405 on a driveway in TempleWay, East Malling. The rear windscreen of a Ford Ka parked


on a driveway in Stangate Road, Birling was smashed. A post box and a wheelie bin were damaged at a property in Bush Road, East Peckham. Two carswere damaged on a driveway


in Marshall Gardens, Hadlow. The rear window of a carwas smashed in Carnation Close, East Malling. A quad bike was stolen from an outbuilding in Beech Road, Mereworth.It was later recovered. An outbuilding was broken into inWater

an Iphone in Lunsford Park, Larkfield. A motorhomewas seen being towed


away fromWillowside, Snodland using a dark-coloured Land Rover Freelander. A home inWillow Road, Larkfield was broken into and two sets of car keyswere stolen. The carswere also taken. Therewas an aempted burglary at a property in Hendy Road, Snodland.
