becoming larger, but more productive and efficient, optimising resources and processes in order to raise their market potential. ANDRITZ Automation strives to

take new technological solutions into its portfolio to offer its customers the best, tailored solutions. With the pulp and paper industry a core part of its services for a long time, the company has already achieved a string of successful references. By gaining tremendous

knowledge from a variety of projects, the engineers at ANDRITZ Automation have fashioned an automation concept that enhances all relevant areas, including automation, electrification and instrumentation (AEI). ANDRITZ is very much focused on full life-cycle management, from the planning phase through to ongoing service and maintenance. For plant operators, whose capacity and resources are better used elsewhere, it is becoming an increasingly important service, made easier by advances in Web-based technology: greater interconnectivity and system intelligence enables ANDRITZ to

monitor systems remotely and identify issues quicker. It’s an approach that has been successfully implemented with tissue machines around the world, including recent examples in China, Germany, Japan, Poland, Russia and the United States, where ANDRITZ Automation has supplied control and safety- related systems, quality control systems, electrical systems and multi-motor drives. It’s a one-stop

shop that also includes operator training and simulation, as well as remote service offerings that span the full life cycle. In addition, ANDRITZ Automation provides a resource management system as well as optimization products to ensure customers have the most innovative and up-to-date solutions – enabling them to get the most from their machines. Since being founded 30 years ago, ANDRITZ Automation has

collected experiences over different industries, including hydro and metals as well as pulp and paper. This knowledge is exchanged within a world- wide network of employees and therefore locally available whenever needed as a benefit. The establishment of ANDRITZ Automation offices in existing manufacturing or sales locations enables intimate integration and engineering- as well as process know-how. And what of the next 30 years? In the pulp and paper market, the trend is clear, with paper plants shifting their focus from fine to packing paper. Rather than new builds, upgrades and refurbishments of existing plants to improve efficiency and performance, particularly in developed markets, will capture a significant amount of focus for the ANDRITZ Automation team.
