Shadows in the Night Bob Dylan Though not “A Swingin’ Affair,” Bob Dylan puts his distinctive vocal mark to the softer side of some of Frank Sinatra’s more melancholy recordings. Dylan’s motivation is to dust off and “uncover” the broken-hearted genius of these classics from The American Songbook in tribute to the master class vocalist. With a sparse yet emphatic five-piece band, the 73-year old is well aware of the serious side of life and love and captures a yearning and learned grasp of the material in a fitting style all his own. Available February 3

Fifty Shades of Grey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Heating up the month of February is the motion picture soundtrack from Fifty Shades of Grey. There is a diverse (yet tied-up-together wonderfully… so to speak) collection of renowned and relatively new musical artists who excel at dominating the tone. There’s two steamy yet forceful tracks by Beyoncé, the bewitching vocals of Annie Lennox and even “Witchcraft” from Sinatra while unreleased and new cuts from Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd (“Earned It”) and more add this to erotically charged “pleasure and pain” parade of songs. Available February 10
