Woody prizes for kids
Children from fi ve local primary schools were thrilled with prizes and cash for their schools in the Woody Bear Easter Colouring Competition, organised by Wood’s Estate Agents & Auctioneers. Children were invited to colour in a
picture of Wood’s charity fi gurehead, the life-size soft toy, Woody Bear and his friends. The entries were judged by Mark Tyler, Exeter-based news and sport broadcast journalist and Vice Patron of the Adoption charity Families for Children. Out of around 1,000 entries, Mark chose 30 winners - six from each school,
and two overall winners were selected to each win £500 for their school. The children were delighted when staff
from Wood’s offi ces in Newton Abbot, Totnes, Chudleigh, Kingsteignton and Ashburton visited their local schools to
home. Broadway’s mission is to support, challenge and inspire people on their journey from street to home. Several KFH staff have joined
Broadway’s outreach shifts to understand what Broadway do and achieve and KFH refer landlords to the charity as well as supporting them. “It was amazing to see some of the
UK’s best known and most successful estate agents marshalled into one room to raise money for charities working with the homeless under the auspices of the Estate Agent Foundation,” said Nigel Lewis of DPG.
Adamson said, “We decided we would like to do something for charity as a team every year and the Race for Life just seemed perfect for us. Most of the team are women, but as well as taking part, we wanted to rebrand to raise as much as possible”.

present the prizes to the winners. And those with the overall winners at Rydon School and Canada Hill were excited to see Woody Bear, who visited the schools to present their cheques, each for £500. Nick Wood, director of Wood’s, team
estate agent with six offi ces in the area, said, “Woody Bear gets involved in all sorts of capers to raise money for local children and children’s charities. The colouring competition was a great way of engaging with nearby schools and we’re really pleased with the number of entries. To see the proud look on the children’s little faces when we gave them their prizes was lovely.”
