wned and operated by the husband and wife team of Paul and Pamela Vocadlo for the past 24 years, the Bistro Dansk has become a city institu- tion and was even featured on the TV show You Gotta Eat Here.


This is the first restaurant I have been to in ages where the average dinner cost is low and the portion size is massive. While some may not appreciate leftovers, I love them, especially when they are so tasty! But value is nothing if the food is not amazing; fortunately the food here is. The menu consists of many Danish and European style dishes, and everything I sampled was to die for. My favourite, the sweet and sour cabbage, is cooked with lots of bacon and onions, yum. Schnitzel, Kylling, crepes - all the dishes were great! I cannot say enough about the flavours, so fresh and delicious. The schnit- zel is a must try...just fantastic. The food was what I expected of a good home- cooked meal complete with friendly service. The limitless bread, made fresh every morning by Paul is scrumptious, and I encourage you to take a loaf home with you. We left the restaurant with a massive box of leftovers. Three of us greedily devoured the remains from just one of the meals for lunch the next day, crazy! That is just great value. The only cautionary information I would pass along to diners is that the wash- rooms are located downstairs, which can be difficult for the elderly and those with disabilities.
