When two actors turn up at our village hall with their musical instruments, a trunk, wig, indian headband and a hat, you’re not quite sure what you’re in for. What we had was a brilliant performance of “One Man and his Cow”, told in verse and song, the two actors playing all the parts. It was very, very, funny. We enjoyed it so much that we’re going to see their next show “Elizabeth 1: Virgin on the ridiculous”, at the Salberg Studio, Salisbury Playhouse in October. Highly recommended.
The next Rural Arts event in East Knoyle is The Yirdbards on 21st November.

This will be my swansong as promoter of Rural Arts for this village.
It’s been a privilege organising these events
in our village hall for the past six years. Hopefully you have all found something to your taste, high-brow, low- brow or challenging! Thank you to all the people who have been part of the team that makes these events possible. Would someone else like a turn as promoter? Come and talk to me and I’ll tell you all about it.

Following the success of last year there is to be another Musical Evening in St. Mary’s Church in October. We saw many of East Knoyle’s residents entertaining us with songs, theatrics and instrumental talents.
