East Knoyle Rainfall 2014 Rainfall recorded
May 84.25mm (3.32") June 50mm (1.97")
May's rainfall was 19% above the average of the last 20 years of May records that I have. We had days of 20mm, 10.5mm, 10mm, and 9mm rainfall which is much more than a 'splash'.
June's rainfall was 17% below the average of the last 20 years of June records. We had one day of 30mm and one day of 13mm rainfall, the 30mm at least must be considered to be a soaking.
Before I put the 'Splash - Soak' rhyme to bed that I used in the last Newsletter, does anyone know what length of time the rhyme covers, for example St Swithins day was thought to show the weather for the next 40 days. Alright I won't go there! Though I did note that there was no rain on the 15th July.
