April 2, 1951—June 3, 2014


Dan was the immediate past president of the Manatee County Fair. He was a lifelong resi- dent of Bradenton where he operated a pest control business. He served on several advi- sory boards including the Sheriff’s, Highway Patrol and several youth groups. He is sur- vived by his long time companion Denise Leavitt, one son, three daughters and several grandchildren.

Marvin Taylor September 9, 1929—October 30, 2013 A native and lifelong resident of Jackson-


ville, Marvin was a gentlemen’s gentleman and a well respected member of the commu- nity. He was a past board member of the Jack-


sonville Agricultural Fair. He held the position of assistant tax collector for 34 years. He is survived by his wife Margaret, one

Elaine Catherine Keir Feb. 2, 1952—Feb. 22, 2014


Elaine was a lifetime member of the Osceola


County Fair and Kissimmee Livestock Shows. She worked with 4-H Youth for over 30 years impacting the youth of Osceola County. She always gave freely of her time providing inspiration and encour- agement and guidance along the way. Mattie Lou Hurst March 25, 1933—November 24, 2013


Mattie Lou was a lifetime resident of Calla- han where she volunteered in many organi- zations including the Northeast Florida Fair. She was Secretary at the Nassau County Farm Bureau, she was a 4-H leader and was 4-H Volunteer of the Year in 1975. Before retiring she owned the Pickett Fence Gift Shop in Callahan. She was the widow of Ralph E. Hurst. She is survived by three children and four grandchildren. www.nassaufh.com


Lorri A. Beck December 24, 1969—November 15, 2013


Lorri was a horsewoman who championed the 4- H and was a part of the Osceola County Fair KVLS (Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show) and she was an elementary school teacher devoted to the kids of St. Cloud as well. She spent her days teaching math and science and her free time tending her livestock, showing horses, and 4-H. Hazel Staley, CFE August 9, 1927—April 12, 2014


Hazel was Executive Director of Montgomery County Ag Center & Fair for 38 years. Executive Director of Virginia Association of Fairs for 12 years. Secretary/Treasurer for Zone 2, Secretary/Treasurer of Maryland Association of Fairs. She judged many Fairs and taught judging school in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
