Sumter County Fair The Sumter County Fair ran from March 7th – 15th and celebrated a theme of Wranglers and Rhine- stones. The Fair made this display along their entryway into the Fair to carry along with their theme.

The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair awards $90,000 in college scholarships to Miami-Dade County students


The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Expo announced the 77 recipients of its annual college scholarship program


April 24 to round up the total amount it has distributed in college scholarships this year to $90,000. The most recent award ceremony took place dinner at the R. Ray Goode Building on The Youth Fair fairgrounds at Tamiami Park. The $1,000 college scholarships were awarded to 46 public high school students, 13 private, charter and home school students, five adult vocational students, and three alternative education students. Ten seniors who will study for a career in an agriculture related field were each also awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Earlier in March, The Youth Fair awarded $7,000 in combined prize money to the winners of the first Elie Wiesel


Prize in Ethics essay contest open to high school juniors and seniors across the nation. Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) was the first district to have its juniors and seniors participate. In addition, $6,000 has been awarded to six students attending Florida International University who volunteer


their time and talent in support of the Youth Fair's performing arts division. To date, The Youth Fair has awarded more than $10 million to help Miami-Dade County students achieve higher education goals. In addition, The Youth Fair is the only venue where students can showcase their educational, art and science achievements all in one place and be rewarded for their efforts. More than 45,000 student projects were exhibited to more than half a million fami- lies, friends and fairgoers during The Youth Fair's 18-day run in March.
