YPI YPI and our first

Scavenger Hunt by: Leah J Norris The YPI (Young Professionals Initiative)

Florida Chapter had a GREAT turn out at the 2014 Convention in Naples! Fifteen people registered as 40 & under

on their Convention registration, so those individuals were invited to dinner on Thursday night at Doc’s Beach House

where they could network with our group, eat a good din- ner, and watch the sunset. We also started, thanks to an idea from Lisa Hinton, a Scavenger Hunt for the YPI group. In their registration pack-

L-R: Billy & Kari, entertainers and associate members; Lauren Der, FL Strawberry Festival, Stacey Wade, Central FL Fair; JD Linn, Haas & Wilkerson Ins., Albert Montes, Miami-Dade County Fair; Ismael Ramos, Miami-Dade County Fair; Miranda Muir, Osceola County Fair; Bill Olson, Greater Jacksonville Ag Fair; Jessica Johnson, St. Lucie County Fair.

ets, they received a list of pictures that needed to be taken and sent to myself. The person to finish the Hunt first won a $50 gift certificate to Outback! We are looking forward to

having another Scavenger Hunt at next year’s Conven- tion, and have already started working on the “Hunt list.” If you have any ideas, email them to leahjnor- ris@gmail.com. Maybe your item will be listed! We are also looking for-

ward to doing more things to get more YPI’ers involved in the Federation.

It is up to

Jessica Johnson, St. Lucie County Fair, with her toes in

YPI Fair Visits…...The Clay County Fair and the Lake County Fair extended a special invitation to our

Young Professionals Initiative to get a double-whammy by visiting both Fairs in one day. The event took place on Saturday, April 5 and started at 10 am with the group meeting at the Clay

County Fair office for a welcome and overview of the Clay County Fair. Everyone then took off to tour the Fair on their own and returned to the office at 1:15 for lunch hosted by the Clay County Fair board. Around 2 that afternoon the group departed for the Lake County Fair meeting at the front gate at about 3 for a welcome by Happy & Leah Norris. The group toured the Fair and everyone headed home after a great FAIR DAY! A special thanks to the YPI Committee, Clay County Fair, and Lake County Fairs for making this special event possi- ble!
