SOUNDS LIKE “I’ve had a really heartwarming response from the blogosphere and have had comparisons to artists such as PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Anna Calvi, Te Cure, Portishead, Te Clash, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Television, Tori Amos, smashing pumpkins etc.”
INFLUENCES Captain Beefheart. Bob Dylan.
BIOGRAPHY Daisy Victoria has been a solo artist since January 2014. Her debut EP, ‘Heart Full of Beef’, has been championed by BBC Introducing’s Richard Haugh and Graeme Mac who have described it as their ‘favourite EP of the year so far’. Released March 2014, the EP has received widespread praise: NME says Daisy Victoria “channels the mixture of raw energy and spirited vocals found on albums like Polly Jean’s ‘Rid Of Me’ to make ‘a ferocious statement.” Louder Tan War gave the EP 9/10, highlighting its “superb punk poetry,” whilst Obscure Sound says she is “creating a sound all of her own.” Highlights from Daisy’s previous musical ventures include playing Latitude 2013 (with Maglia Rosa Group), Te John Peel Centre and Harvest at Jimmy’s. Daisy enjoys the films of Jim Jarmusch, the photographs of Wolfgang Tillmans and the music of Bob Dylan. She stays sane by walking across muddy fields and talking to herself.
WALKING ACROSS MUDDY FIELDS AND TALKING TO HERSELF.”
