The Living Room welcomes homeless and at-risk women and their children into a warm, safe and comfortable en- vironment during the day when over- night shelters are closed. Caring staff and volunteers offer a lifeline during a time of crisis. Whether homeless for some time, newly homeless, or on the verge homelessness, women of all ages and mothers with children are greeted with love and understanding. Mother’s appreciate the child-friendly environment where they receive sup- port from staff and volunteers while their children engage with toys and learning activities. The Living Room provides nutritious meals and essen- tial daily needs, and offers health care education, parenting skills, job search skills, computer and mail access, and referrals to community resources that provide temporary shelter, housing, medical and mental health care, and other vital services.
