can literally be viewed, in real time, on their website where a clever Time Clock displays the Week, Day, Hours, Min- utes, Seconds to the start of this prestigious annual event. What makes the Healdsburg Jazz Festival successful after 16 years of presenting talented musicians? Is it the great 10- day musical line-up, with 8 of those days featuring artists in the Jazz genre, and another 2 days of Blues? Is it the 5000 enthusiastic fans? Or perhaps, is it in part, due to an experi- enced team working behind- the-scenes with innovative and visionary leadership? Jazz aficionado, Jessica Felix, leads the esteemed Healdsburg Jazz Festival, as the founder

and Artistic Director, of this important non-profit arts or- ganization. She is dedicated to

educating people about

the roots of Jazz and its im- portance as an American musical heritage by helping to keep the art form alive and vibrant. She began her musical activism years ago, and continues to inspire oth- ers with her passion for Jazz music. She works closely with

the Healdsburg Jazz

Festival’s Board of Direc- tors, Community Advisory Council and the Musicians Advisory Group to ensure a diverse, well-rounded pro- gram. Additionally,

she is

also a gifted visual artist who creates “Spirited Jewelry De- signs in Gold and Silver” with her jewelry line called, Art and all that Jazz. Best known for its annual

“Now, what are you planning to do about that excess weight you’re carrying around?” the doctor asked the patient.

“I just can’t seem to lose the weight,” the patient said. “Must be an overactive thyroid.”

“The tests show your thyroid is perfectly normal,” the doctor said. “If anything is overactive, it’s your fork.”

“Every piece of the

universe, even the tiniest little snow crystal, matters somehow. I have a place in the pattern, and so do you.”
