SPRINGFIeLD COLLeGe Sport Management and Recreation Department students helped promote and raise money for childhood cancer research recently in Dana Gymnasium. The event, “A Cut Above the Rest,” encouraged members of the campus community to either have their hair cut or shaven in exchange for donations that were sent directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. More than 75 students partici-

pated in the event, which featured Springfield College President Mary-Beth Cooper speaking at the opening ceremony and thanking the campus community for their participation. More than $1,500 was raised during the three- hour event.
