1951 Winifred (Laverty) Hages cele- brated her 91st birthday on March 25, 2013, and is enjoying great health and independence.

Don Bond celebrated his 85th birthday on Sept. 8, 2013, with other Springfield College alumni George Brendler ’60 and Larry Roller.

1952 Howard G. Knuttgen, PhD, FACSM is pictured, from left, with Springfield College faculty members Bob Accorsi, Brian Thompson, and Ann Thompson at the New England Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Fall Conference held November 14-15 in Providence, R.I., where Accorsi, Thompson, and Thompson presented. That organiza- tion’s Knuttgen Keynote Lecture is named for Knuttgen, senior lecturer in physical medicine and rehabilitation for Harvard Medical School and Penn State University professor emeritus of applied physiology and sponsored by Springfield College.


Frank Wolcott (G’60) was recently honored as a member of the United States Gymnastics Hall of Fame at the P&G National Gymanstic Championships in Hartford, Conn.


Bradley Currey has been a civil rights activist since his time as a student at Springfield College. Currey was a founding member of the Santa Barbara (Calif.) chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union in 1962 and continues to be active on the chapter board of directors. Recently, he was honored by the chapter for his long career in, and dedication to, advancing civil liberties.

Joe Fisher wrote in to share that he and other members of the Class of 1954 met in Sturbridge, Mass., in September 2013 and have been getting together every September for the past 27 years.

Peter Bacon ’65, Geoffrey Cardinali ’61, G’63, and Frank Walcott ’52, G’60, met with Steve Posner at the P&G gymnastics Championships in Hartford, Conn., on Aug. 17, 2013.


Walt Ersing was inducted into the Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2013. Ersing is a cofounder of the Central Ohio Soccer Officials Association and has been a certified soccer official since the Ohio High School Athletic


Association began certifying soccer officials.

Jane Seaver Kirk was honored as one of 20 extraordinary women in the Greater Keene, N.H., area by The Keene Sentinel. Kirk’s role with Jane’s Kids, an organization that is run through the Keene (N.H.) Rotary Club, provides school clothing to impoverished children in the Monadnock Region (N.H.).
