Multiple nominations by different firms in a deal are allowed – but judges will not necessarily give extra weight to the number of nominations. Third parties can nominate too.

Judges are not just looking at the size of the deal. They will take into account deal complexity, who led the deal, mix of advisers, whether cross- border, completed to a tight timeframe, and a number of other criteria.

There are still limited opportunities for sponsorship, and table bookings should be secured as soon as possible.

Directors’ Toolkit – an effective solution to uncover directors’ duties

For a company director, there’s a complex world of regulation, compliance and directors’ duties that need to be understood – to prevent you falling foul of the law.

But how easy is it to get the information you need? And how understandable is it?

Until now, it was difficult to find the answers to the many questions that directors ask as they aim to fully understand corporate governance and corporate law.

Hence the launch of Directors' Toolkit, a valuable online resource that provides you with the facts that matter.

www.Directors-Toolkit.com is a one-stop website providing practical advice across a wide variety of topics and everyday situations.

Launched by leading Thames Valley law firm Pitmans, the toolkit covers elements of corporate and commercial, insolvency and restructuring, employment, immigration and pensions, fraud and criminal, intellectual property, dispute litigation and much more. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions to further enhance the depth of information, generating greater value for future visits.

As Pitmans says: “Directors’

duties can often be complex, multifaceted and relate specifically to the level of regulation applicable to the business’s sector. They are a series of rules and statutory obligations that a business’s board of directors must comply with. These duties form a central part of corporate governance and corporate law.

“We have recognised a growing need from directors to better understand their specific duties, and having scoured the market for practical legal advice, we decided to develop an online resource answering real-life questions.”

By providing background information to regularly encountered scenarios, we are educating visitors about the best approach to resolve and move forward with a situation. The website will continually evolve as further topics and guidance is added and we welcome visitors to submit their questions.”

Visit www.Directors-Toolkit.com to discover what your rights are in a dispute with another director or shareholder; learn how to sell your business and the best approach to take; find out whether you can borrow money against the company’s debtor book or invoices; read about the key provisions of IT contracts when outsourcing part of an IT operation or engaging external providers; or apply effective insolvency procedures after discussing which option is best for your business and situation.
